When Trauma Is Recent, Your Clinical Approach Matters

As EMDR clinicians, we're often called upon to support clients in the days and weeks following a traumatic event. Whether it's a serious motor vehicle accident, medical crisis, assault, workplace incident, natural disaster, or community tragedy, recent trauma presents unique clinical considerations that differ from processing memories rooted in the more distant past. Having the right protocol—and knowing when to use it—can help you approach these situations with greater clarity and confidence.

Join EMDRIA Approved Consultant Renee Eddy for this immersive two-day training introducing both the Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP) and the Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP) —specialized EMDR early intervention protocols developed to support individuals and groups following recent traumatic experiences.

Through lecture, discussion, video demonstrations, and experiential practice, you'll build practical knowledge you can immediately begin integrating into your clinical work.

This training is designed for EMDR clinicians who want to feel more confident responding to recent traumatic events and expand their clinical toolkit with specialized early intervention protocols.

Is This Training for You?

You'll benefit from this training if you:

Have completed an EMDRIA Approved Basic Training.

Want greater confidence working with clients in the days and weeks following a traumatic event.

Recent trauma doesn't always affect one individual.

Sometimes you're working with a single client who experienced a recent accident or assault.

Other times, you're responding to an entire classroom, workplace, healthcare team, or community impacted by the same traumatic event.

This comprehensive training gives you an understanding of both protocols so you can confidently determine which approach best fits the clinical situation. Rather than learning one protocol in isolation, you'll develop a broader framework for responding to recent trauma across a variety of treatment settings.

Why Learn Both Protocols Together?

During This Training You'll Learn

The theoretical foundations of R-TEP and G-TEP

The similarities and differences between each protocol

Clinical indications and considerations

 Appropriate client and group selection

Practical implementation strategies

How these protocols fit within the Adaptive Information Processing mode

Ethical and clinical considerations for early intervention

How to integrate these approaches into your existing EMDR practice
