When weekly therapy doesn’t fit your schedule - fast-track healing with an EMDR Intensive

You’ve experienced some traumatic things in your life, recently or in the past, and it's stuck with you. You've been holding it together, but you often feel like you're just going through the motions, stuck in the same loop of feelings that never seem to go away. You're ready to feel better — now.

You’re not alone. Many women silently carry the weight of complex developmental trauma for years before they seek help. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, generational trauma, PTSD (from a single or ongoing event), or the ridiculous pressures of motherhood — you need help. But juggling life, family, and a career with this emotional burden puts a strain on your relationships, can disrupt daily responsibilities, and impacts your overall well-being. You're ready to heal but the thought of spending months or even years in weekly therapy sessions before feeling relief can seem unbearable.

Stop waiting. Achieve 6-12 months of therapy in just one week.

That’s the transformative healing of an EMDR Intensive.

You're done putting off therapy

You can’t focus at work anymore and even find yourself checking out of conversations with the people you love. It feels like you're stuck on autopilot.

You want to prioritize mental health, but the demands of life, your job, or family keep pulling you in every direction. The idea of weekly therapy sessions feels like just another item on an already overwhelming to-do list.

You’ve been searching for rapid relief — a way to jumpstart your healing so that you can finally start feeling like yourself again.

Maybe you’re frustrated, feeling like you’ve hit a plateau in your current therapy. Despite all the work you’ve done, there’s still something holding you back, keeping you from experiencing the peace and freedom you know is possible.

Healing doesn't happen over night, but you can take a big first leap in a way that fits your schedule.

TIME TO TRY EMDR THERAPY

What is an EMDR Intensive?

EMDR Intensives are concentrated EMDR therapy sessions that span a few hours or days. They're designed for those with busy schedules who can't fit in weekly therapy sessions or those who seek quicker progress. They're a way to start healing or to complement what you're working on with your therapist. I'll create a personalized treatment plan aimed to target specific “blocks”, anxieties, limiting beliefs, generational cycles you wish to break, or traumatic memories. EMDR Intensives can provide the equivalent of 6-12 months of therapy in a short time frame.

EMDR Intensives can be done in two ways:

1. Multiple consecutive days of 3-6 hours of therapy each day

2. Ongoing clusters of 2–3-hour sessions

EMDR Intensives offer a more immediate transformation

What to Expect from Your EMDR Intensive

Our EMDR Intensives are designed for deep, focused healing over a short period. You can choose from a variety of formats based on your needs.

Two Ways To Schedule Your Session:

  • Half-Day Sessions: Each half-day intensive includes 3 hours of therapy (9 AM - 12 PM or 2-5 PM). This is equivalent to a full month of traditional therapy sessions.

  • Full-Day Intensive: We'll spend 5 focused hours together, unpacking 2 months of healing into just one day. Full-day Intensives include a lunch break and end at 3:30, giving you plenty of time to get the kids, book a relaxing massage with our on-site massage therapist, or head one of Norwich's luxury spas for more self-care. We can book one, two, or three consecutive days of therapy for faster results.

Before your intensive, we'll meet for a 90-minute history-taking and preparation session. You’ll also receive a customized workbook to help you prepare for the intensive. That way on the day of, we can skip the introductions and use our entire session to work on your goals.

After your sessions, we’ll also check in via email two and four weeks after your intensive to see how you're progressing and hitting your goals. You have the option of a 90-minute post-intensive follow-up to help reinforce your progress.

Not sure how many days you’ll need?  You don't have to decide before reaching out. At the end of your initial consultation, I’ll recommend the optimal number of sessions, usually ranging from one to four half-days or one to three full-day sessions.

  • How is an EMDR Intensive different from weekly therapy?
EMDR Intensives are the equivalent of multiple therapy sessions over one, two, or three days. Because you can work together for longer periods at a time, your we will be able to help you uncover the root causes of your trauma faster, allowing you to feel a more immediate transformation. In fact, research shows that it is as effective, or more so, then ongoing weekly EMDR treatment. EMDR weekly therapy happens in single sessions lasting 45-55 minutes at a time. Weekly therapy is meant to be an ongoing form of therapy and can be done online or in-person. Both have been found to be effective in treating trauma.
  • How do EMDR Intensives save time?
Weekly sessions have a hard start and stop. That leaves you with a limited amount of time to work together as it may take you a few minutes to get acclimated to the session before you feel ready to talk about what’s bothering you. Time lImited sessions can also feel abrupt to clients who are on the verge of a breakthrough to hit pause and wait until their next session, hindering progress. With EMDR Intensives, there is no waiting. The longer session times allow us to cover more ground in one session. Clients often feel it opens the space for deeper discovery and faster healing.
  • What does an EMDR Intensive look like?
Before your intensive: First, we'll meet for a 20-minute consultation to make sure EMDR Intensives are right for you. If you decide to move forward we'll meet again for a 90-minute history-taking and preparation session. You’ll also receive a customized workbook to help you prepare for the intensive. We do all this up-front so that on the day of your Intensive we can use our entire session to work on your goals. I currently offer a variety of ways to schedule your session: Half-Day Sessions: Each half-day intensive includes 3 hours of therapy (9 AM - 12 PM or 2-5 PM) Full-Day Intensive: Full-day Intensives last 5 hours, from 9 - 3:30 PM. We can book one, two, or three consecutive days of therapy for faster results. After your session: I never throw you back into real life alone. I’ll check in via email two and four weeks after your intensive to ensure you’re doing well and staying on track. If you think you'd benefit from more healing, massage therapy, or reiki, we can schedule that for you. Not sure how many days you’ll need? You don't have to decide now. Once I get to know you I’ll be able to recommend the optimal number of sessions. You can decide if you want consecutive sessions or to space them out into half-day sessions. If you're ready to book your initial consultation, you can do that here.
  • Is EMDR therapy only for PTSD and trauma?
No. While EMDR therapy is known for being one of the most effective treatments for PTSD, it can help treat a variety of challenges . Whether you’re dealing with trauma from your childhood or more recently, or you don’t recall ever having trauma, EMDR therapy can help you uncover how to process the underlying issues and finally feel free of the weight on your shoulders. We help clients suffering from: Anxiety Sexual Assault & Abuse Complicated Grief & Loss PTSD Combat and first responder trauma Disturbing Memories Panic Attacks Stress Self Esteem & Imposter Syndrome Phobias Life Transitions, Such as Divorce Complicated Emotions Triggered By Parenthood Childhood Trauma & Neglect Trauma With Your Attachment Figures Generational Cycle Breaking
  • What if I already have a therapist?
That is wonderful! Our work together doesn't discount any of the work you've been doing with your therapist. Many therapists trust their clients with me because they know the healing power of EMDR. Whether you're in general therapy or you're seeing an EMDR therapist, our EMDR Intensive works alongside your therapy to help you process blocks or traumatic memories faster. It's a way to feel rapid relief for those who are doing the work but still feel "stuck" or like something is holding you back. If you're comfortable with giving me permission to speak to your therapist ahead of your Intensive, I can! I'm a therapist too, and know how important it is for my clients to feel like they're on the right path towards healing. We'll get up-to-speed and ensure our work together is designed to compliment your current treatment plan.
  • How much does it cost?
Our EMDR Intensive experiences are designed to provide not just deep healing, but a carefully tailored journey. Each package includes a comprehensive history session, a personalized workbook crafted specifically for you, and either a half day or whole-day sessions for one, two, and three days at a time. Once we determine the best treatment plan for you, I can give you a better idea of what the investment looks like. Here's a glimpse of what what the cost may look like: 90-Minute History & Planning Session: $500 This includes a detailed, customized workbook and any prep coordination needed with your care team. Half-Day Intensive (3 hours): $900 A great option for diving deep into your healing without committing to a full day. Full-Day Intensive (6 hours): $1,650 For those ready to spend an immersive day focusing on their mental health and progress. 90-Minute Follow-Up Session: $300 Keep the momentum going with a follow-up to your intensive, tailored to your needs. Ongoing Intensives: $250 per hour (minimum 2-hour block) Perfect for continued EMDR support to maintain progress. Please note, meals and additional wellness services (like Reiki or massage therapy) aren’t included, but we’re happy to add these on for you to give you an extra boost of relaxation and self-care while you're here.
  • Can I use my insurance?
EMDR Intensives are rarely covered by insurance. Most clients pay out of pocket. The benefit of EMDR Intensives is that you get more therapy for less than the price of ongoing sessions. We do not bill insurance for EMDR Intensive services but will gladly provide you with a superbill so you can discuss reimbursement options with your insurance provider.
  • How long does EMDR therapy take?
EMDR Intensive sessions can range from 2-3 hours in an afternoon to 5 hours a day over the course of one, two, or three days. Sessions can be spread out over several weeks or conducted on consecutive days. For those coming to us for the first time, we strongly recommend doing consecutive days so you can get relief from your biggest struggle. The length of treatment varies based on the type of trauma you’re dealing with, your current symptoms, and tolerance for processing through difficult emotions. Treatment times can also be based on your availability. It’s normal to feel some immediate healing after the first session. While there is no way to know how fast or slow a client’s progress will be, we aim for you to feel relief after each session. We find clients who choose to do longer intensives over two to three days see the most improvement.
