CONNECTICUT EMDR THERAPY

Break Free From Your Past & Find Your Peace

EMDR therapy is an effective alternative to traditional talk therapy, designed to treat anxiety, PTSD, and a variety of complex trauma.

Stop surviving and start living — you deserve to feel joy again

You’ve been carrying the weight of traumatic experiences for far too long — and it’s affecting your life and relationships. Maybe it’s the flashbacks, the racing thoughts, or the constant feeling that you can’t fully move forward. You're overwhelmed and paralyzed at the same time.

Whether you're dealing with anxiety, PTSD, or the ridiculous pressures of motherhood, EMDR therapy offers a path to healing that doesn’t rely on endless conversations. Our licensed EMDR therapists will design a plan to help you process those painful memories in a safe, supportive space, so you can finally break free from the past and feel whole again.

You don’t have to feel like this. Let’s take the first step together.

What is EMDR?

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a powerful alternative to traditional talk therapy. It works well as a stand-alone therapy or as a compliment to the work you're doing with your regular therapist.

By using guided eye movements and focused conversations, EMDR helps you get to the root of trauma, anxiety, and limiting beliefs faster. Whether you're carrying the weight of past trauma or dealing with something more recent, EMDR works to reduce the emotional intensity of these experiences, helping you reclaim control and live a more joyous, freeing life.

What does EMDR treat?

EMDR therapy is most known for it's effective treatment of PTSD and complex trauma, but many people benefit from it. EMDR is effective at treating:

  • Anxiety

  • Sexual Assault & Abuse

  • Complicated Grief & Loss

  • Divorce

  • PTSD

  • Disturbing Memories

  • Panic Attacks

  • Stress

  • Pressures of Parenthood

  • Self Esteem & Imposter Syndrome

  • Phobias

  • Combat and First Responder Trauma

  • Childhood Trauma & Neglect

  • Trauma With Your Attachment Figures

  • Generational Cycle Breaking

What to Expect During an EMDR Session

Each 50-minute session works toward your custom treatment plan to focus on helping you process trauma safely and effectively. Sessions happen at your pace - either once a week or once a month. Using bilateral stimulation, your therapist will guide you through key phases to reduce the emotional charge of difficult memories and help you regain control. You're not being drug along for a long, arduous ride — you're in the driver's seat of your own healing journey.

Pinpointing What's Been Holding You Back

We’ll start by bringing up a specific memory or feeling that’s been troubling you. This helps guide the session toward healing.

Staying Grounded with Movements

As you recall the memory, your therapist will use gentle eye movements, tapping, or sounds to keep you focused and grounded.

Focused Conversations to Release Pain

While EMDR isn’t as talk-heavy as traditional therapy, we guide you through releasing what’s been building up inside. These focused conversations help you express your pain and uncover what’s at the root of your struggles.

Processing, Healing & Learning to Live Again

With this approach, your brain can naturally process the memory, easing its emotional impact and helping you move forward.

We don't want you to feel like you're going to be stuck in therapy forever. As you go through your treatment plan, you'll feel better after every session - working up to the day you feel stronger, less emotionally charged, and ready to reach your goals.

CHOOSING THE TREATMENT PLAN THAT WORKS FOR YOU

What's the difference between EMDR Therapy & EMDR Intensives?

We offer both weekly EMDR therapy and EMDR Intensives, and while both are effective, they serve different needs. Weekly EMDR therapy is ideal for ongoing work, allowing you to process trauma at a steady pace — giving you time and space to process your emotions and practice coping techniques between sessions. It’s great for those who prefer a consistent, gradual approach to healing. On the other hand, EMDR Intensives are more for those who want faster progress or have tight schedules that don’t allow for weekly visits. Think of it as a big leap into your healing journey.

They're both effective forms of therapy and we'll recommend the best option for you in your initial consultation.
